Achensee, 6 days of guided walking in Austria (June and July 2025)

Holidays
A week of walking and sightseeing around Lake Achensee, the largest of Austria's lakes.

This was the annual walking holiday with me, Mary and John.

We were based at the Wiesenhof Hotel in Pertisau, a tourist village on the southwest shore of the lake.

The weather was brilliant, walking excellent and the hotel top quality all round.

There were two cable car rises, one of them in Pertisau itself.

There were opportunities to take one of the the boats which sail around the lake, to walk along the somewhat scary path which clings to the steep western slopes which drop down to the lakeside.

To get there we flew to Munich and returned the same route to Manchester.
