Hot Air Balloon Trip with Tod and Linda

Back

An hour's flight from Sheffield to a field somewhere rural to the south, September 2002.
This was a 40th birthday present, delayed for 2 years because of the national Foot and Mouth disease crisis.

A park in central Sheffield and the balloon is prepared for its inflation.
The pilot inflates the balloon.
Gaining height and flying over some tennis courts or something.
High up above the city as we drift slowly south.
We make a bumpy landing in a farmer's field.
Here I am in the basket on its side.
Tod and Linda discuss the flight as we wait for the recovery team to find us somewhere in Derbyshire.
