A short adventure and activity holiday - land, air and water in the Lake District.

Back
(1) On Thursday we scaled Blencathra, 868m.
Parking at Threlkeld, we started the walk at a small car park and proceeded to the base of Hall's Fell, one of the most direct routes to the summit.
(2) We climb steadily.
(3) Looking east with the buttresses of Doddick Fell and behind it, Scales Fell.
(4) We continue steadily up Hall's Fell, the last few hundred yards being a rocky ridge which needed a bit of climbing and scrambling!
(5) After about an hour and fifty minutes we reached the summit.
To escape a cold wind walked along to the west and dropped down a bit to find shelter and had our lunch.
(6) Now at Knowe Crags and heading for the mass of Blease Fell with Derwent Water in the distance.
(7) After the mountain we drove to Nichol End marina which we visited last year and had a coffee and piece of cake before sitting and watching the world go by on the lake shore.
