Capital:  Port Vila (pop. 51,000)
Main languages: Bislama, English & French
Currency: Vanuatu Vatu

Exports: Exports include copra, kava, beef, cocoa and timber.
Tourism is an important foreign currency earner.
SOLOMON ISLANDS

PAPUA NEW GUINEA

Exports: Minerals, including gold and copper, oil.
Palm oil is the main agricultural export.
Coffee is the major export crop, followed by cocoa and coconut oil/copra, tea and rubber.
